Shades of Toddlers and Tiaras! Not since a 10-year-old Brooke Shields appeared in the film Pretty Baby has there been a stink like this. Seems that everyone has an opinion on preteen model Thylane Loubry Blondeau, the daughter of former French pro soccer player Patrick Blondeau. The girl, 10, was featured in a French Vogue cover pictorial this month entitled Quel maquillage à quel âge? — translated, “What makeup at what age?” Radar Online:
In the pictorial she’s fully made up, preening and posing in a sultry, seductive manner befitting of adults, along with two other preteens.
Some are not amused.
“I think that I’m seeing a very young girl being sexualized, being gazed at in a very adult way,” Mommyish.com deputy editor Koa Beck told Good Morning America Thursday.
Defenders of the Vogue pictorial have also come forward, saying that the uproar is just another example of “insane” prudish Americans, according to a fan Tumblr page dedicated to her.
At any rate, one could say that the youngster is now more famous than her dad, who had a somewhat notable European pro soccer career and retired in 2002.
