I’m no soccer expert, but I would expect that with 10 teammates and a stadium full of fans, someone would have warned this goalie that an opposing player was hiding behind him, waiting for him to let go of the ball. But I guess not.
Well, that was embarrassing.
It happened during a Japan League first division game between the Kashima Antlers and Cerezo Osaka, and that’s Osaka goalie Jin-Hyeon Kim who got bamboozled by Antlers forward Yuzo Tashiro. Trickery, trickery, trickery. That was the tying goal, and the Antlers went on to win 3-1.

We have seen this often in peewee and youth soccer where the players are not yet knowledgeable of what to do and where to be. This is truly embarassing for an adult goalee who should know much better. This is funny, but sad to see at this advanced level of futbol!

A goal like this has been scored in England by a Nottingham Forest player. It’s quite well known and celebrated as a gaff.
The goalkeeper has the ball in his hands and the other players are running towards the halfway line, except the Forest player who is hiding behind the keeper. When the keeper rolls the ball out on the ground to kick it upfield, the man behind him runs up to it and taps the ball in the net.
It’s not offside because the last player to touch the ball before the scoring forward was the goalkeeper, a defender.English football fan.
