Ellis Coleman pins Iranian opponent with flying squirrel move (video)

So evidently there’s a move in wrestling called the flying squirrel, and that’s the one that Ellis Coleman of the U.S. pulled out against an unsuspecting Iranian opponent at the Junior World Championships last week in Bucharest, Romania. That’s Iran’s Mehdi Chooli Zeidvand who was the unfortunate recipient of the move — let’s say he got squirreled — in the quarterfinals. It’s made Coleman somewhat of a sensation, as the original YouTube video of the move has more than a million views so far.
The problem here is that you can pretty much only use the move one time — surprise is the key element, it seems. Coleman went on to win the bronze medal. Oh, and he appeared on ESPN’s First Take this morning.

What a move! From my dinosaur days in high school and college wrestling, I did not know of such a move and if I did, I would have never been able to pull that move off. Congrats to a very athletic Ellis!
