Details begin to emerge on the two new Bryan Stow beating suspects

So the two guys taken into custody on Thursday morning in connection with the Bryan Stow beating case are being described by neighbors as ‘baseball loving dads.’ That’s nice to know. Both Louie Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Norwood, 30, were arrested Thursday after police in riot gear stormed their Rialto neighborhood. Both men live on the same block.

They remained in custody Friday morning with bail set at $500,000, according to police. LA Times:

A third suspect in the case, Dorene Sanchez, also was arrested Thursday on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact to a felony, police records show. A neighbor and a relative of Norwood’s said Dorene Sanchez, 31, is the sister of Louie Sanchez and either the wife or longtime partner of Norwood. She was taken into custody at the same Rialto home that Louie Sanchez gave authorities as his residence.

It is unknown whether police believe Dorene Sanchez is the woman witnesses saw driving the two suspected assailants away from the stadium after the attack. She was released from custody early Friday morning after posting $50,000 bail, records show, and did not immediately return calls for comment.

Police are being tight-lipped on the arrests (no surprise there after their ‘Mission Accomplished’ display with Giovanni Ramirez). But according to police records, Norwood is 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, which matches witness descriptions of one of the attackers. Sanchez is 5-11, 175, which is close to descriptions of the second attacker. The Times reports that Fontana police described Sanchez as having neck tattoos when he was arrested for drunk driving in 2005. Witnesses say that one of Stow’s attackers also had neck tattoos.

[A neighbor,] Marie Love, 43, said police asked her: “Did you hear any bragging? Did anyone hear any bragging, anything like that?”

She said she had not heard any such talk and was shocked that Norwood and Sanchez would be arrested. They were known as family men who often played baseball with their children on a small patch of grass in front of Love’s home.

Love said that Norwood and Dorene Sanchez live with three children, including a toddler and two older children, between 9 and 11 years old. Louie Sanchez’ son, she said, is about 9 or 10 years old, and visits his father on weekends.

Witnesses to the beating reported seeing a child about 10 years old in the car in which the two assailants fled after the attack. A law enforcement source with knowledge of the case, who requested anonymity because the investigation is ongoing, said a child has provided authorities with information about the attack.

Love described Louie Sanchez as laid-back and friendly, saying he organized events for single parents in the neighborhood to get their children together and enjoyed putting on July 4 fireworks shows for the youngsters. “I really hate this because he’s a great guy,” Love said. “I’ve known them for a real long time. That’s a good family there. For this to happen is a shock …. I’m willing to believe that they arrested the wrong guy a second time.”

Of course we have no way of knowing yet if these guys actually did it. But if they did, what gets me is that they thought they could get away with hiding in plain sight. I always suspected that the guys who did it would have fled the city by now, or perhaps even the country. The LAPD may have made a couple of missteps so far, but a lot is at stake for them and eventually they were going to get it right. So the attackers’ brilliant plan was to just go home and chill while the cops sorted this out?

Lets hope they got it right this time. These guys sound like real losers.

This Gives Southern California and in particular the “Inland Empire” another black eye like we needed one. Plus Frank McCourt lost in BK court so many Karma is starting to rear its head.

If you are talking about the suspects when you say that they “sound like real losers” then you must be getting info from another site, because here they are described as family men with Hispanic names and not much else. Hopefully you didn’t come to your conclusion based on that.

Let’s not be sensitive. The main attacker’s last name is NORWOOD. Can you please tell me what Hispanic country that is rooted in???? I’d like to know. Your quick to defend your heritage but how quick are you to voice your opinion if someone from your heritage does a heinous crime. C’mon, I’m white. In no way shape or form am I going to defend someone purely because he’s white. Would I not be judged as biased and labeled a racist??? Yep. Try and view the world without colors and based on deeds. You’ll sleep better at night

Actually I was referring to the long rap sheets on both of them. Spousal abuse, restraining orders, assault and battery, DUI etc. I didn’t intend to play the race card. I based it on some detailed info on the LA Times.
