Top-tier professional mountain biker/skier Alex Pro lost his biggest sponsor earlier today when sports equipment giant Oakley Inc. pulled the plug on their relationship. The company’s statement on its Facebook page:
Oakley does not condone or support the actions taken by Alex Prochazka. And as a result of his behavior, Oakley Canada has elected to end its association with Alex Prochazka effective immediately.
Prochazka is the gentleman pictured above (light blue jeans) seen exulting beside an auto that he had just helped tip over. His biggest mistake, besides getting all rioty in the first place? Wearing an Oakley t-shirt while doing so.
I guess that’s like me wearing an NBC Sports t-shirt as I’m filmed setting a car on fire and rolling it into a church.
Reaction to Oakley’s decision has been mixed. From its Facebook page:
John Blokester — Lynch mob rules. thought the law was innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Oakley you are played out.
Brad Celmainis — As I’ve been saying all along, Oakley was going to do the right thing. I don’t like to say “I toldya so”, but in this case, I will.
And now, as I am savagely beaten by nuns, I shall end this post. Thank you.

I think the photo proves him guilty of being a douchebag.

Someone should tip his mountain bike over and set it on fire.

Alex has made a second apology;
“I am extremely sorry about the negative light that has been cast on my community, my family and my many supporters in Whistler and everywhere else due to my highly publicized actions during the Vancouver riot. I sincerely apologize for what I did. More importantly, my thoughts are with the direct and indirect victims of that riot.
I promise all of you that I will do everything I can to make amends and be the best person I can be.”A few more of his sponsors have also dropped him such as EVOC, Spank and SDG. For more of the story and recent statements from sponsors go to;
