Cleveland radio host will name her baby after Dirk Nowitzki

I can’t say I’m surprised, but I will say that now that I’ve heard this Cleveland radio talk host’s name — Cherise Navidad — I can’t get Jose Feliciano’s Feliz Navidad out of my head. Thanks a lot. Anyway, Navidad made a promise on Twitter that if the Mavericks won Game 6, she’d name her second child after Dirk Nowitzki. Time to pay up my dear.

She was so desperate to beat James, that she tweeted out that she would name her soon-to-be-born son after the Mavericks’ MVP if they won.

“When you want someone to beat LeBron so badly, you will do anything,” she said.

Soon the promise spread among her thousands of followers and to Dallas followers – some of whom thought she was nuts and some who appreciated the gesture.

Minutes later, the Mavericks staged a huge comeback, Nowitzki had the MVP trophy in his hands and the radio host’s unborn child had a name.

Navidad is host of a Saturday night show on Cleveland’s Q104.

But later in the story we see that, since Cherise got to name the couple’s first child, it’s her husband’s turn to name this one.

A week later, she told the Daily News that although her husband gets to name this baby — she named their first — she will follow through with the promise to name her child Dirk, even if it’s just his middle name.

Weak. Just going with the middle name makes this a blatant publicity grab.

Somebody that only hosts a radio show one night a week, on a night when the fewest number of people listen anyway because they’re in bars or on dates, has no choice but to use blatant publicity stunts to get some recognition… ANY recognition. Nice try on the “out” of it being her husband’s turn to name the kid. Unless that kid is popping out of someone else’s vagina, it’s HER second child. And that was the deal. Name him Dirk, baby.

Seriously? These people in Cleveland need to GET OVER IT ALREADY!!!! LeBron screwed you all in a personal way apparently by leaving to play for another team. Wahhhh!!!!

As for the no name pig of a radio host naming her kid Dirk, I hope she enjoyed her 15 minutes of fame, no one will remember you or your loser kid. Oink oink, you fat pig!!!!

    Felice? Maybe feliz, instead?

But Cleveland really needs to get over LBJ. If they really want to heal they need to win a ring of their own. I’m tired of listening to how bad Cleveland (and Seattle) have it. Grow up.

No name pig? Her name is Cherise you Floridian *******.. Calling an unborn child a loser. If that doesn’t exemplify being a loser then I don’t know what does. Don’t worry what us fans need to get over. Worry about ******* Bron’s D..cause the only thing he’s giving you clowns is **********…**** ***!

“Dirk”? WTF is with “Dirk”? Name the kid “Nowitzki Navidad”. Now that’s a handle to be proud of.

What a lunatic. I love sports as much as the next person, but why the hell would I name my son after some 7 foot German that plays for a team I don’t even like?

That’s why people hate Cleveland. None of their teams are ever any good so the only satisfaction they can muster is by rooting against other teams. It’s pretty comical.
