Donald Jones of Kansas City, Mo., is accused of killing his friend, Ronald Oliver, with a knife this past Tuesday after the two argued while watching Game 1 of the NBA Finals. But get this: police say he threw the knife that killed Oliver. Zounds.

From The Pitch:

Police found Jones kneeling next to Oliver and holding a towel to Oliver’s chest. But Oliver, 40, was already dead. On Wednesday, Jackson County prosecutors charged Jones, 41, with voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action.

Jones and Oliver were watching the game at a home in the 3300 block of East 30th Street. They began to argue, and one of them went to the kitchen to get the knife “because it was relevant to the argument.” Jones didn’t recall stabbing Oliver but did say he’d thrown the knife at his friend. He said he’d pulled the knife out of Oliver’s chest and tried to put pressure on the wound.

A knife that was “relevant to the argument”? What could the argument have been? Well, whatever it was it resulted in a very unique mug shot.
