CFL running back Yonus Davis caught with 67 pounds of ecstasy, intent to party

40,000 tablets of ecstasy? I sure hope running back Yonus Davis of the B.C. Lions wasn’t planning on taking all of those pills by himself. Davis was apparently taking advice from Mitch Hedberg, who once famously said, “I love my FedEx guy cause he’s a drug dealer and he doesn’t even know it… And he’s always on time.” by hanging out in California waiting for a FedEx shipment full of thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs from a mysterious ‘Haitian male’ when he was busted by federal agents. Remember kids, if you’re slightly famous and want to deal drugs on the side, always have a fall guy. Mothers work fine.
According to Brown, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents say Davis was in possession of 67 pounds of ecstasy. That adds up to around 40,000 tablets, so this is not some minor recreational drug usage. Brown added that Davis could face up to a $1 million fine and/or 20 years in prison, which fits under the DEA’s penalties for a first-time offender found guilty of trafficking “other Schedule I & II drugs.” The Sun’s story was posted shortly afterwards, and contains the information that Davis has been charged with possession with intent to distribute.
So I guess the moral of today’s story is that if you’re trying to score some ‘E’ after watching a CFL match, the first place you should look is the locker room. The second? I dunno. Jail?
