Does it shoot lasers? Autographed Houston Oiler helmet auctions for $2M

Well, if something is going to be ludicrous, it may as well be ludicrous for charity. From KHOU in Houston, TX:
A Houston Oilers helmet signed by tons of players including legendary coach Bum Phillips went for $2 million dollars Thursday night at a charity auction in Beaumont, Texas.
So much for the economy being in the dumps. Two million is a lot to drop on damn near anything, let alone a piece of football equipment with the names of a bunch of guys who played and coached for a now extinct franchise written on it, though I suppose it makes sense that with there being an ever dwindling amount of Houston Oilers memorabilia on the market that the remaining pieces go for a high price– supply and demand at its finest. But 2 million? I guess everything is bigger in Texas, even the philanthropy.
Now if only they could come up with an actual NFL helmet that eliminates concussions, that would be something worth the price-tag. Assuming the NFL continues to exist, and the NFL owners stop crying poverty while reaping ridiculous profits from the #1 sport in the country and charging half the GDP of Bangladesh for a family of four to attend a game. Now my head hurts.
