It’s supposed to be a commercial about the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry, but somehow the Phillies end up getting the worst of it. Not sure how that works … but see for yourself in the video following the jump. The New Era ad featuring John Krasinski as a fiercely devoted Red Sox fan and Alec Baldwin as a pointedly smug Yankees fan is pretty funny. Especially when Krasinski taunts him for losing Cliff Lee, and Baldwin responds: “A true Yankees fan doesn’t consider Philadelphia a real sports town. You know that.”
Don’t kill the messenger.
From The 700 Level: I bet New Era is pissed at the 0-6 start for the Sox after writing in that “Celebrate in April” comment.

Ouch, Chandler. That really stings. No…REALLY.
Especially since you have a marginally (at best) sports related blog here, and you resort to cheap shotting Philadelphia fans what seems like several times a week just to get minimal clicks and comments. I like how your “Most Commented” post has eight comments. Maybe someday you’ll get up to double digits
I usually give columnists and writers the benefit of the doubt and say that if you don’t like what the writer says, then just don’t read it. However, you’re just nothing but a hack.

I’m new to the posting… so I don’t want to inflate this guy’s feedback stats… but Alec Baldwin is basically in character of Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock. And any 30 Rock fan knows the Tina Fey (Philly) vs. Alec Baldwin (actually Boston in 30 Rock) schtick that is prevalent in a few episodes.
So, I found this video hilarious and was not offended at all since “Jack Donaghy” says worse things about Philly on the show!
Philly rules! Cheesesteaks! Bobby Clarke! Will Smith! Your town.. sucks!!!

Yeah, Philadelphia’s definitely not the sports town that East Rutherford is.
