‘Tiger Woods of Motocross’ arrested for impersonating a cop

Bubba’s World is kind of spinning out of control right now. James “Bubba” Stewart, the first black motocross standout and star of his own reality show on FuelTV, was arrested in Florida in Monday night for impersonating a police officer. Oh come on, we’ve all been there: You’re looking for a little excitement on a Monday night, so you and a friend cruise around in an SUV with police lights on the dashboard, and pull over random motorists.
Problem: One of the motorists Stewart chose to pull over was an off-duty Florida State Trooper. Two troopers, in fact.
A Central Florida motocross champion whose website calls him “the Tiger Woods of supercross” was arrested Monday on a charge of impersonating a police officer, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
James “Bubba” Stewart Jr., 25, was driving a 2008 Toyota Tundra pickup northbound on State Road 417 at 4:50 p.m. when he tried to stop another vehicle using red and blue police-type lights, troopers said.
As Stewart pulled alongside the vehicle, the driver identified himself as a law officer. That’s when Stewart, who had a passenger in the pickup, sped off, the highway patrol said.
The troopers called 911, and an Orange County deputy sheriff and an Orlando police officer stopped Stewart at Orlando International Airport.
Stewart was freed on bail the following morning.

“The biggest thing I learned is that you always have to be straight up and down,” said the soft spoken star. “As an athlete, I love Tiger Woods for everything he’s done on the golf course. Everything that’s happened on the side, I’m sure he regrets a lot of things and I’m sure we all learned from that. But he’s still a dominant athlete and as far as being an athlete I’m still a huge fan of his.”
