Trying to win a European Tour event? There’s an app for that

Getty Images When it’s been twelve years since you’ve last won an event, I imagine you’d leave no stone unturned in trying to get your game back to its top level. For European tour professional golfer Anthony Wall, it led to finding putting help in a rather unlikely place– his iPhone.
That’s right, his iPhone. Wall paid 95 cents for an app of putting tips from short-game expert Dave Stockton, and he is now 1 shot off the lead heading into the Sicilian Open’s final round. Apple is coming for you too, sports world. Just let them catch their breath first.
“That is the best 59 pence (95 cents) I have ever spent because his tips have really simplified a few things for me,” Wall said after his second round.
Good for Wall, and good for struggling athletes everywhere who know have technology to turn to in addition to booze, gambling and performance enhancing drugs.
I’d suggest maybe the struggling former #1 in the world Tiger Woods could turn to his phone for help, but I believe that’s what caused his problems in the first place.
