The Def Jef 1990 U.S. soccer team video is a thing of beauty

While not technically the 1980s, this video has all the elements of what made that decade what it was: funky music, painful lyrics, shirtless men cavorting on the beach, and O.J. Simpson. It’s the U.S. soccer team’s 1990 World Cup video tribute, featuring Def Jef & DJ Eric Vaughn, made, I guess, to inspire our squad to greatness in Italy. Of course soccer fans know that after a 40-year absence in the Cup, the U.S. team charged out that year and went three-and-out in the first round. But at least we got this video out of it!

Never have so many men in short shorts touched each other for a worthier cause.
