Yep, you probably guessed it anyway … Notre Dame is our 2011 NCAA Men’s Div. I Basketball national champion! If the results were determined by men’s basketball graduation rate, that is. For the record, it beat Villanova in the title game (here’s your complete bracket). But that was just one of four categories at NerdyBracket.com, which figured out entire 64-team tourney brackets and results in four different categories (using only teams that are in the actual Div. I tourney). In addition to men’s basketball graduation rate, there’s tournaments for student-athlete graduation rate, mid-career median salary and average SAT score.

And as you knew it had to be, Duke does play Michigan in one of these. It’s in the student-athlete graduation rate tourney, and Duke wins to advance to the Round of 16. In fact, Duke goes on to the finals before losing to Notre Dame. Homework, baby! The real Fab Five wear pocket protectors! They’re on the All-Bookworm team!

And guess who wins the other two tournaments? Hint: it isn’t the Fighting Irish or Duke.

I’d think Princeton would have to have won the SAT score tourney. Median salary… hmm… could also be Princeton.
