Yinz ain’t got no regrets n’at? — ‘Terrible Towel’ tattoo inks Steeler fandom for life

What it lacks in class, we’ll give it in originality. While just anyone can get a tattoo of their favorite team’s logo or nickname, Anthony Liu of Tucson, AZ. (man, those Steelers fans do travel) went one-step further and got the six-time Super Bowl Champion’s easily recognizable, if still very annoying, “Terrible Towel” tattooed onto his inner forearm, “flowing from the grip of his clenched fist as if already in mid-twirl.” Well, then.

For those unfamiliar with the particular charms of Western Pennsylvania, the towel was penned by Myron Cope, long time Steelers radio personality andĀ  a generally accepted crazy man (note: this may not actually be generally accepted. It should be). At any given time during the course of a game, 65,000 people clad in black & yellow (no, not gold; it’s yellow), roughly 30,000 of which are sporting a mullet, will hoot and holler and wave their actual towels around in earnest circles like a fervent flock of football sheep, ready at a moment’s noticeĀ to swirl their hockey-loving, grammatically-challenged spirits into a rising tide of visual stimuli and home-town Steeler support. Lockout? What lockout?

No word on if Cope approves of the tattoo or not, but considering he’s dead, if he were to voice a complaint, I for one would be far too worried about the impending Zombie apocalypse to much give a damn.

Now, what would really be impressive is a tattoo of each and every Super Bowl ring the Steelers have won in their storied tenure. If only Antonio Alfonseca were a Pittsburgh fan.

All I can say is this….I opened an account to specifically comment on this article. I am really shocked that NBC Sports would let an writer stoop to such a low level to smash football fans, first of all. Then to make remarks about a dead man!!
I am so angry I don’t know what to write, but for Steelers Nation I will say your words are garbage, you do not understand football, fans, or have the ability to comprehend such a wonderful game! FOOTBALL!!! The Steelers play football, and do it well, we have the rings to prove it. And fans, you go to any game coast to coast, home or away, and you are right you will see a sea of BLACK AND GOLD!!! It is GOLD you jerk, Pride colors for pride filled fans!!!! The man that has this tattoo, is a wonderful Steelers fan, and you did not have the right to write about him, or degrade him or Steelers fans!!! ‘If you got paid for this article, they need to cancel your check and tar and feather you!!! STEELERS 4 EVER BLACK AND GOLD!!!!!

Ever heard of defamation of character Rob Sylvester?? Last I checked I didn’t give you permission too use my piece or my name!
It’s pretty gut-less to attack a great man that has passed away! You can take shots at me but you went a little far!
    You know nothing about me…
And for those who like the ink, you should see the other side!
    STEELER NATION!!
