The two girls in the photo here are actually the same person; Tia Gototweski, a senior at Upper Dauphin Area High School in Elizabethville, Pa. Not only was Tia voted homecoming queen last year, but she’s also on the wrestling team with the boys, where she collected 12 wins during the season that just concluded. (Nelson Muntz: “You got pinned by the queen! Ha ha!”).

“To see her transformed into the homecoming queen and a wrestler that actually wins matches — on our team — is just amazing,” said J.P. Leitzel, a junior wrestler.

“Homecoming queen means you were well liked in school; you were friendly and good to your peers,” Gototweski told CBS 21 News sports director Jason Bristol. “And I’ll always remember wrestling, because it will give me my boost to get into the Marines.”

Yep, the Marines. Where she’ll be one of the few with a tiara in her footlocker.

If only some guy would have refused to wrestle her on religious grounds, she’d really have a story to tell.
