The Week In Review: UConn trick shot quarterback tells all
Feb 11, 2011, 5:48 PM EDT
As we showed you on Wednesday, UConn backup quarterback Johnny McEntee performed some pretty amazing trick shots at the Huskies’ indoor practice facility recently (video below if you haven’t seen it). My favorite: The William Tell throw (I’d still like to see the outtakes on that).
CNBC’s Darren Rovell interviewed McEntee, an excerpt below.
Darren: You only had seven touchdowns as a senior in high school. How is that possible? Did you have a great running back?
McEntee: Yeah, D.J. Shoemate. He went to USC and then with their violations came here to UCONN.
Darren: You’re the backup heading into spring ball. Give me a send of how good you are?
McEntee: I’m a pretty good trick shot quarterback.
Darren: Seriously.
McEntee: I’m alright.
But, there were other stories this week. Let’s investigate.
- Now, literally, Brett Favre cannot hit the broadside of a barn.
- Best boxing entrance ever. But typical exit.
- Hit a ball over the center field fence? Feh. The Lowell Spinners will launch a man there.
- Little Darth Vader from that Super Bowl commercial meets James Earl Jones. Together they will rule the universe as father and son.
- Alex Rodriguez not amused by that clip of him being fed popcorn. Letterman: “It was so cold last night that Cameron Diaz was feeding A-Rod hot soup.”
- Man killed by rooster during cockfight. Little Jerry? Look out!
- Glenn Beck does not like where you place your hands during the National Anthem. Glenn Beck is watching you right now.
- In which our intern visits the Philly Wing Bowl and gets a large helping of breasts.
- Colonel Reb has risen, and he wants braaaains!
As always, thanks for reading, and enjoy the Ohio State-Wisconsin matchup tonight. Rob Sylvester will be here to guide you through the weekend. Stay frosty (that won’t be hard).
