Who would have thought that one of the biggest stories from Wednesday’s National Signing Day would have centered around a female student and a faxcam? A provocatively-dressed girl fetching faxes on an Alabama Web cam broadcast has ignited controversy at the university, and today her identity has been revealed.
SportsbyBrooks has discovered that Crimson Tide dance team member Briana Baisden was the girl visible on the faxcam broadcast, whose presence SEC Commissioner Mike Slive deemed “inappropriate,” according to the Birmingham News.
The faxcam video began circulating on the Internet and became viral, as things sometimes have a tendency to do. Now Ms. Baisden is a star.

As the commitments from recruits rolled in, an Alabama cheerleader, dressed in her official Crimson Cabaret uniform, was charged with picking up the faxes — resulting in her being caught on the webcam.
Considering the woman seen on the webcam was a UA cheerleader in the same uniform she often wears as an officially-sanctioned Univ. of Alabama representative, part of me is inclined to think that Slive owes an apology to the Alabama student for needlessly insulting her. (She was only doing what she was asked!)
Indeed, if her attire is OK in front of thousands in a stadium or arena, what’s wrong with her dressing the same way to pick up a few faxes? I suppose they could have had Big Al do it, but his trunk often gets caught in the paper tray.

I’m confused. It appears this is the cheerleader’s uniform.
We don’t have a problem viewing cheerleaders on the sideline each Saturday do we? What’s the difference between that and standing next to a fax machine?

Exactly the point made at the end of the article. Apologize, Slive. The fact your twisted mind saw this as something it clearly wasn’t, doesn’t mean any ill-will or intention was created by ‘Bama, nor are they worthy of a reprimand. Interesting placement of the camera however
