Wake Up Call: The Terrapins are oiled and ready for Duke (burp!)
Feb 1, 2011, 9:00 AM EDT
Yeah, I know that this is supposed to be Super Bowl Week, but in all the confusion you may have forgotten a couple of items. First, we’re now less than 1,000 hours from the March Madness Selection Show. Feb. 1 is the last day for you to begin paying attention to college hoops, if you plan on finishing above 100th in your office pool and the shame and humiliation therein (you’re doomed).
Second, Duke visits Maryland on Wednesday night to renew one of the most fierce rivalries in college sports, and still the only one that features Satan vs. a turtle. Earlier in the season this game wouldn’t have been worth mentioning, but things have changed. No. 5 Duke is 2-2 over its past four road games, and Maryland has won three straight, including victories over Clemson, Virginia and Georgia Tech. Here’s the final minute of last year’s game at College Park. So grab your baby and a couple of cold ones and settle in. This should be pretty good.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT
Like a good neighbor State Farm is there …
- I Will Follow: U2 concert chases Marlins out of own stadium, will be home team in Seattle vs. Mariners.
- Mock the Pro Bowl if you will, but apparently more people watched it than tuned in to most of the BCS bowl games.
- X Games race official hit by snowmobile.

TODAY IN MARK TRAIL …
The duck isn’t buying this line of bull****, but let’s see what Mark’s wife makes of it.
