More homeless people in the sports news, because this seems to be the year for that. Ouida Wright and her partner Aaron, who were staying at a Green Bay homeless shelter, have won an expenses-paid trip to the Super Bowl (video below). The pair were walking to a winter carnival when they heard about a contest run by the Dallas Convention Bureau, which had sent a “mystery man” to Green Bay to give away the prize. Residents had to find the guy and say the words “Have you been to Dallas lately?” to win the trip.
“We were walking, and people kept asking us ‘Have you been to Dallas lately?’ Wright said. “That’s how we found out about the contest. So then we started doing it.”
The fourth person they asked was the mystery man.
“He said “Why yes, I am,” Wright said. “I thought it was a joke. I’m homeless, let’s face it, I thought he was messing with me. We had ninety cents in our pockets, and we won a package that people would pay thousands of dollars for. We’re lucky to have a can of soda or a movie, and we’re going to the Super Bowl.”
Free advice: Just stay away from Charlie Sheen’s party.

I just think there is something we don’t know here. Good for them, they won a trip to the Super Bowl, but aren’t there a few more priorities in life for the homeless than “spooning”?
Just seems that there is much more to this story. I wonder what kind of work are they looking for? I wonder how long they have been homeless? Questions, questions.
