Boom goes the dynamite; Steelers fan busted for artillery antics

I think you know my strict policy: I never fire my homemade backyard cannon unless the neighborhood is under attack, or to scare away Jehovah’s Witnesses. But Bobby Wayne Blanton, 45, of Lincolnton, NC, has different standards. To celebrate his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Jets last weekend, he headed to his backyard to fire off Ol’ Betsy. Police cited Blanton for firing his homemade stainless steel cannon multiple times following the game. UPI:
Police, who were called to Blanton’s home by neighbors, said the man was also in possession of a second homemade cannon, two containers of black powder, muzzle-loading propellant pellets and a fuse.
Of course he was.
