A modest proposal: Baseball should reach out to young fans by marketing the Giants

Our video of the day comes from Paul Sullivan, creator of Sully Baseball, one of our favorite blogs. Aside from noticing that Matt Cain looks remarkably like Bobby Hill, Sully points out that baseball is missing the boat as it pertains to marketing. Still caught up in 20th-century thinking when it comes to promoting its product, Sully points out that, yes, there is indeed baseball west of Philadelphia. Like the Giants, for instance, who not only have some young, quirky, likable stars, but also happen to be the World Champions. Why isn’t MLB marketing them more? Sully:

“There’s an audience out there who doesn’t use Flomax. Go find it, baseball.”
