Nope, for sure no one will mock these uniforms; soccer fans are simply too mature. In other words, our worst fears have come to pass: This is the actual jersey to be worn by the MLS’s Philadelphia Union this season. Better than having “Chico’s Bail Bonds” on the back, I suppose. But not much better. From the Philadelphia Business Journal:
The Philadelphia Union signed a four-year partnership agreement with Bimbo Bakeries USA Tuesday that will make it the fifth professional soccer team to don the Bimbo logo.
The deal, valued at about $12 million, also includes Bimbo becoming an MLS sponsor. Bimbo will run a nationwide “Soccer Mom of the Year” promotion, with the winner earning a trip to MLS Cup 2011.
I’ve often dreamed of the time when the jokes on this site would just write themselves, allowing me to sit back and watch a little TV. This appears to be that time.
For the record, the bakery company is pronounced “beem-bo,” which I’m sure all MLS opponents will take into account during Philadelphia away games.
Some other great pro soccer jerseys:
AC Milan.
Clydebank.
West Bromwich Albion.

Better served to use in the Lingerie League, as long as it didn’t adversely affect the “uniforms”. Perhaps removable back tattoos for Bimbo Bakeries would work in that case.
