Cardinal’s Marecic thinks Harbaugh, Luck will both return at Stanford

I’m not sure how much I trust the opinion of a two-way player from a major college football program; he tends to take a lot of hits to the head. But Stanford running back/linebacker Owen Marecic must be smart — he attends Stanford, after all — and seems to be of the opinion that both coach Jim Harbaugh and quarterback Andrew Luck aren’t going anywhere.

Marecic on Harbaugh and Luck, as he visits Into The Night With Tony Bruno on FOX Sports Radio following Stanford’s victory in the Orange Bowl on Tuesday:

“I respect any decision they make, but I lean towards them staying actually. They are just those kind of guys, and everything I’ve heard is they’ll stick around. But like I said, I have tremendous respect for any decision that they make.”

That’s a possibility that isn’t getting a lot of traction in the media this week, but it makes as much sense as any other. You want to go off on a high note, sure. But for Harbaugh and Luck, there’s still that one thing left on the table that they couldn’t accomplish: a national title. Would it be so crazy if they wanted to give it another shot?
