Our first 2016 Olympic controversy; Rio logo theft?

Well, that didn’t take long. Word on the virtual street this week is that the new Rio de Janiero 2016 Olympic logo — which was unveiled on New Year’s Day — is a little too close to the design of a fairly well-known charity logo from the U.S. Ripoff, or unfortunate accident?

If the Telluride Foundation were the NFL or Major League Baseball, their attorneys would already be parachuting into Brazil behind a barrage of cease-and-desist artillery cover fire. But as of now, the logo similarities just kind of hang there in awkward silence.

It’s not like the Rio OOC is going to go back to the drawing board. You know how expensive it would be to change this?:

But then there’s the notion that the Telluride logo isn’t all that original either. From Yahoo’s Fourth-Place Medal:

The Telluride Foundation, which has yet to comment on the matter, may not be able to complain too loudly though. It seems that the charitable organization did some design-borrowing of its own when it made its logo. Some have noticed its resemblance to “The Dancer” by Henri Matisse.

And my God, what about this?!
