Tucker Carlson thinks Michael Vick is a very bad man

Dec 29, 2010, 11:48 AM EDT

Slow news week? Feh! says Fox News. Tucker Carlson, filling in for Sean Hannity on the Hannity Good Time Lovefest Happy Hour, had some shocking comments about President Obama’s call to Eagles owner Jeff Lurie on Tuesday. Here’s the highlight: Michael Vick, Carlson claims, should have been “executed” for what he did to dogs. (Video following the jump).

Carlson led a panel discussion pegged to President Obama’s recent phone call with the Eagles owner, in which he applauded the Eagles for giving Vick a second chance following his time in jail over his dogfighting scandal.

But Carlson is not as forgiving as Obama or the Eagles.

“I’m a Christian, I’ve made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances,” Carlson said. “But Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should’ve been executed for that. He wasn’t, but the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond the pale.”

And oh, Carlson knows what being executed feels like. His career was humanely put to sleep in 2004 when Jon Stewart tore him apart as a guest on an episode of Crossfire, which was canceled a few weeks later.

I’ve been as hard on Vick as anyone, or at least I thought so until Carlson came along. Does he really think Vick should face the gallows? I guess that if you’re a fill-in host on Fox who’s angling for a full-time gig, no amount of partisan hackery is beneath you.

Tucker Carlson: Michael Vick ‘Should Have Been Executed’ [Huffington Post]

Tucker Carolson ought to be FIRED immediately! What a loser this bow-tied, bad hair cut wannabe journalist is. Whatever two-bit network signed a contract with this loser ought to cut ties right now. What a bigoted response from this low-life whose mother couldn’t think of a better name than Tucker.

Mastra Carlson always treats us darkies good, the Mexican slaves are different story.

BTW, I missed Carlson calling for the execution of pedifile priests and the bishops that hide their crimes. Oh, wait, they weren’t black.

No wonder people are getting sick of Tucker. I just watched his opinion on Michael Vick and I’m on their side also. Really Tucker? He should be put to death because of a dog. What about real crimes where people are getting less time than Michael Vick did for killing a dog. I believe the concern with animals seems too be going a bit far. Or is it really about those dogs? Vick was made an example of over a dog. I believe that harder punishments should be enforced for real crimes. I just believe that the punishment did not fit the crime and he definitely should not be put to death because of it. I doubt that a Christian like Tucker…that he claims to be… would utter words such as this. What about forgiveness? Where are your Christian values? It seems to me that he made a mistake, paid for it, and is moving on. Why should we keep discussing this?

Tucker Carlson is a d0ucheb4g. He’s not doing this because he says he is a “Christian”, which a Christian he isn’t; Christians forgive. He’s doing it only because Obama said some thing public ally about Vick and second chances. So in essence, Carlson has won because millions of people are talking about what a moron he is and how he said Vick should die. WTF? Die? Are you freaking kidding me? Die? Over a dog which has no soul? Oh, I forgot. You said you are a Christian. Hmmm. Yeah, right. Well, what Vick did sucked and there will always be some thing that bothers me about it. It will make me wonder if he really learned a lesson about what a d0ucheb4g he was for dog fighting. But murder? Please. No one has ever been convicted of murdering a dog. Moron. Enjoy your 15 minutes in the limelight Tucker. You aren’t going any higher in the ranks even if you suck off Rupert Murdoch.

Interesting…Does Mr. Carlson believe Sarah Palin should be executed for killing a gutting a caribou on television for the sheer joy of killing an animal? The Palin’s don’t live in the middle of no where–the grocery store is but a few minutes drive from their home. There was absolutely no reason for Ms. Palin to kill that poor animal. And to gut it on television was beyond the pale.

Does Mr. Carlson believe Ms. Palin’s rabid support of shooting wolves from helicopters warrant execution? Not only does Ms. Palin kill animals every year for the sheer joy of torturing and killing the animals, but she supports laws that allows for this kind of brutal torture and killing of helpless animals. Helicopter shooting is in no way shape or form a sport. Least we forget, many of the wolves slaughtered by helicopter “hunters” have pups to young to hunt for themselves and inevitable die a horrible death of starvation. Newborn wolf pups are born blind and deaf—they are totally dependent on their mother for months following birth.

In Mr. Carlson’s world, republicans can torture and kill animals with impunity—but he wants execution for any democrat who does it. This is outrageous. Beyond that, I think everyone–republicans and democrats alike can see his bias here.

I ALMOST agree with Tucker. ( First time in my life I ever came close to agreeing with anything out of Fixed News ). He does not deserve to be executed. In Hammond, In. a school teacher was given 30 years for having sex with a 14 year old girl. He deserved it. Does Michael Vick deserve to make millions of dollars after what he did? Second chance? Does Charles Manson deserve a second chance? How about Timothy McVea, did he not deserve a second chance? HELL NO!. Not everyone deserves a second chance and Vick is one of them. Maybe the NFL could field an all ex-murderer team, or an all Pedophile team. It seems the NFL likes recruiting talent from the ranks of former felons.

VICK: Guilty of conspiracy, transporting and delivering animals across state lines and developing a venue for hosting dog fights. The criminal charges against Michael Vick included the execution of approximately eight dogs for not performing well during fights.

McVEA: The Oklahoma blast claimed 168 lives, including 19 children under the age of 6, and injured more than 680 people. The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen-block radius, destroyed or burned 86 cars, and shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings. The bomb was estimated to have caused at least $652 million worth of damage.

MANSON: Directed &/or perpertrated at least seven extremely brutal murders. Leader of a major property theft ring. Also charged with armed robbery and arson. Habitual criminal from the age of 12.

Do you really think Vick’s crimes are eqivalent to McVea’s (first federal execution in 38 years) and Manson’s (to many a personification of evil for his heinous crimes and lack of contrition)?

I’m a strict vegetarian, who hasn’t killed an animal in over 25 years…though appalled by dog fighting in general, and Vick’s specific involvement, I see his punishment and subsequent involvement in anti-dog fighting activities, as a part of a civilized society.

By the way, “sickvick” if you eat beef, pork, &/or chicken from factory farms, those animals suffer simiiliar to, or even greater than, dogs that fight. So…I hope you’re a veggie, or at least eat stricty self-harvested or humanely produced meat.

Our judicial system is f*cked up… punishment does not always fit the crime. all of the above make VERY VALID points, but honestly, it’s preferential treatment, he was a celebrity going in and coming out…. And for Obama to call and congratulate the Eagles, huh…? where’s his phone call to the people/organizations that gave the remaining living dogs a 2nd chance? (have you read about them?) some still have diseases that are only harbored due to fighting…

A nation and it’s moral progress can be judged by the way it’s animals treated ~ Ghandi…

As for hunting wild animals, as much as I don’t like it, it’s called population control, last time I checked it was legal. Fighting dogs for fun… are any of you aware of what he did with his bare hands? Have you seen video? Pretty hard to stomach:
    Execution style killings
teeth ripped out so they can’t fight back
    rape stands
    bait dogs
    chased and hunted
all for fun and games to make money.. all the money HE BANK ROLLED… the NFL money, endorsements and all from the public that pay to see him play… so really are we all a bit guilty?

Our nation is getting pathetic by the day….
