Yes, as you’ve probably seen by now, Stevie Johnson tweeted his displeasure with The Almighty last night after the Bills’ wide receiver dropped what would have been a game-winning touchdown pass in the end zone against the Steelers. Here’s what Johnson tweeted after the game:
I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO…
I think that Johnson’s first mistake here is assuming that God was watching Bills-Steelers on a Sunday afternoon. When God gets home from church, he usually likes to curl up on the porch swing with his Kindle and a glass of lemonade.
As for God’s reply, I checked His Twitter account, and there’s nothing so far. His latest tweet was an Osama bin Laden joke. But I’ll keep you posted.
Well, I’ve always said that if athletes praise God for their success, they should curse him when they screw up. But now I take it all back. Not cool to throw God under the bus, son.
P.S.: I find it somewhat amusing that God is following both Stephen Colbert and John Cleese.
