Monday Blogdome: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar remembers Leslie Nielsen as a Whoopee Cushion-using cut-up

One such tribute is especially enlightening and amusing: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar regarding the enjoyable time he spent with Nielsen while working on “Airplane”. “For me, it was a real pleasure to know and work with Leslie Nielsen. He was a consummate professional when the cameras were rolling. And during down time he was a notorious practical joker. He would often engage the casual acquaintance in what seemed to be a serious convsersation [sic] while he manipulated a whoopie cushion causing that person to look around and try to figure out what exactly was going on.” [Sportress of Blogitude]
- Larissa Riquelme Will Save The Koreas. You may recall that Riquelme — the Paraguayan World Cup hottie — recently endorsed a Korean dating website that promoted an opportunity for Korean men to win the right for her to reject their marriage proposal. She was scheduled to meet the finalists in Korea but the North Korean actions threw this into doubt. Thankfully, Riquelme contacted the company she is endorsing about whether it was “safe” to attend. Of course, they said it was. [Unprofessional Foul]
- Kevin Burnett Delivered a Birthday Present to His Mom and a Win for the Chargers in the Same Night. “Everybody was texting me before the game to get another pick for a touchdown. Oddly enough I told my little brother, I said ‘I’m gonna get a pick tonight, I’m gonna score’ and it happened. Also, just being able to be on national television, I thought they were putting me on there to tell my mom happy birthday because yesterday was my mom’s birthday. Also my kids told me to score a touchdown yesterday so there was a lot going on yesterday and definitely happy birthday to my mother and I love you to my kids and my wife. It was big yesterday. I got over 50 or 60 text messages.” [Sports Radio Interviews]
Also: Drunk man arrested at his class reunion. Only one guess in which city this occurred … Francesco Totti: Elf … Odds on the next U. of Miami head coach (Jon Gruden at even money).

R.I.P. Leslie Nielsen, best umpire ever!
P.S. Boo on the WordPress account requirement to post comments here. Was much better when it was “anonymous.” : )
