So hockey finally gets a black TV analyst, and he’s promptly run down by a Zamboni prior to a game. Sad. You will be missed, Kevin Weekes. (Video following the jump).
Actually, Weekes went against his instincts as a goalie (Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils) by sidestepping just in the nick of time and letting the Zamboni through as he was trying to broadcast his pregame script. Then another Zamboni followed, and a couple of no-nonsense squeegee guys. In Edmonton, smooth ice is more important than human life.
