Technology will now tell you which games to watch, and you will like it

Are you a busy sports fan living a hectic life? Do you not have any friends who owns a phone? Then boy, is there a new product for you!

Thuuz is the new service directed at sports fans who may not have time to keep up with all the goings-on with their favorite teams, and would like an occasional reminder via text or e-mail that an exciting game is happening and they should get their technologically savvy selves in to a position to watch it. Like with all pretty good ideas, it’s an amazement nobody had thought of this already.

Sports fans log on to Thuuz.com and tell the company what leagues and teams they enjoy watching. When a game gets really good, fans will receive an e-mail or text telling them to turn on that game.

How does Thuuz objectively determine this information? Well, “Thuuz” is short for enthusiasm. The company has spent months developing algorithms for sports that automatically absorb the live play-by-play feeds to spit out an enthusiasm ranking of between 1-100.

“Every game starts at 50,” Packard said. “And we’re constantly updating the excitement rankings through the game. When it crosses the threshold that you set, you’ll hear from us.”

I guess this only applies to people with satellite televisions and the ability to switch to any game in the country they want, but the algorithms sound pretty cool. It’s about time math actually did some good for someone.

The always insightful Darren Rovell of CNBC’s Sport’s Biz has a a bit of good advice — add trackers for games which feature your fantasy players or on which you’ve made a wager, and turn Thuuz into an all-everything source of information vital for the fan on the go. This is a pretty cool start, though.

I just feel bad for Big 10 basketball fans who sign up. As Thuuz only sends out alerts for “exciting” games, they’ll probably think their service is off after the 10th-straight day of not receiving any.

Hey Rob, someone has thought of it already. :)

We can’t match Thuuz’s PR team or the connections of a VC, but our service is light years ahead.

Not only will we alert you when there’s an Instant Classic in the making, but we’ll give you the exact channel number to turn to so you can catch the finish. Don’t want to wait for a text? We have apps for iPhone, Android, and Palm, and we even have browser plug-ins for Firefox and Chrome.

With our new Google TV app, we’re bringing the technology into the living room where it belongs. It’s Sports Fan Nirvana.

You should definitely check us out.
