At this rate, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are never going to meet, unless Floyd decides to run for political office in the Philippines (not recommended). In today’s adventure (actually Monday), Mr. Mayweather got into an argument with a security guard at his Las Vegas estate and ended up poking the dude in the eye. Obviously the security guard wasn’t trained to use the Curly Howard finger defense. From TMZ:
Law enforcement sources tell us … a private security guard who was patrolling inside Floyd’s gated community drove up to Floyd’s house a few hours ago to confront the boxer about a parking situation.
We’re told the security guard rolled down his window to talk to Floyd … and that’s when Floyd allegedly unleashed his finger — striking the dude in the face.
Cops were called to the scene and knocked on Floyd’s door — but we’re told the boxer refused to open up.
We’re told since Floyd was only suspected of a misdemeanor battery — and because the alleged incident didn’t take place in front of a police officer — cops merely took a report and did not make an arrest.
Now let’s not go overboard here; it’s just a misdemeanor eye-poke; it’s not like Floyd is holed up in his mansion with an AK-47 and a pile of cocaine on his desk. But when you use the terms “gated community,” “cops took a report” and “Police knocked on his door but he refused to open up” … ring a few bells? Anyone? Mr. Subliminal: “I see no relation to any other incident (Cadillac Escalade). Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to work (fixing this damaged fire hydrant).”
Just add this to the list of reasons a Mayweather-Pacquiao bout will only happen if someone obtains the video game rights.

At the rate of controversies this fellah is getting into, it makes people wonder if he really is that serious in avoiding a Pacquiao fight. *rolleyes*
Honestly, I think any decent boxing fan would rather have the boxing legacy Pacquiao gives to the sport than Mayweather’s rather shallow undefeated record.
