I’ve been saying for years that the only problem with bacon is that it’s not available in more formats — after eating my bacon sandwich on bacon-flavored bread (with extra bacon bits), I want a nice & tasty bacon beverage to wash it down with. Until now, I’ve been out of luck.
J & D foods is a company that specializes in bacon (bless their existence) and they’ve teamed up with Jones Soda Co. to introduce a bacon flavored drink “just in time for the holidays.” I know what I want for Christmas this year, and for once, it’s not booze.
“They know soda. We know bacon. We were destined to merge our technologies for something big,” [J & D Foods owner, Justin] Esch said. “We’ve already made bacon beauty products, bacon stationery and edible bacon products, so something drinkable was next.”
Bacon beauty products? I don’t know if I should be hungry or turned on.
Anyways, bacon soda just sounds like part of a balanced breakfast to me, because really, who has the time to cook solid food? This is the 21st century, baby. If you only you could just drink the whole meal, then you’d really be in business — one step ahead of all those chumps who had to use such a prehistoric tool as an open flame. Wait, what’s that?
Then there’s the wide array of weird food-based drinks made by MeatWater. As leading experts in meaty beverages…MeatWater even has a “Basic Breakfast” drink, which combines “crispy bacon, eggs and buttered toast” all in one bottle.
I don’t know about all of you, but there is not a single part of that sentence I didn’t like.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some breakfast to drink. It’s sort of like being Rocky, only you don’t have to get punched in the face by Carl Weathers afterward.
