Take this job and shove it; the Rangers are in the World Series

We’ve gone heavy on the Giants around here for the past month or so — my policy is once every 50 years, whether they deserve it or not — so it’s high time we talked about the Rangers and their crazy fans. Meet Boris Briskin, a Plano native who now works for a law firm in Los Angeles … or did, until Texas reached the ALCS. That’s when he quit his job so that he could attend every home playoff game. And that’s where he’ll be come Saturday, for Game 3 of the World Series. Fox 4 News, Dallas:
“If I wasn’t here right now I would definitely be at work. And if the Rangers weren’t in the playoffs I would not be in Dallas right now,” he said. “It’s the Rangers. I’ve loved the Rangers for so long. They haven’t been to the playoffs since ’99. They’ve gone through so much since then. I really couldn’t miss this.”
Jobs, say Briskin, are easier to come by than Rangers’ playoff appearances. And even in this tough economy, I’d have to agree.
If you’re wondering what The Claw is, here you go.
