Mexican clown convention produces nightmare fuel, but no record

What do you call it when you bring together 700 clowns, who spend all day awkwardly staring at each other while they decide whether to juggle tomatoes or bowling balls? No, not “the mid-term elections” … this is Mexico. And so of course the answer is the International Clown Convention, which brought together 700 of the scariest human beings known to man. I hope the people sharing a hotel with these fright inducers packed shotguns, just for their own mental comfort.
After getting together, they knew of nothing better to do than to join together in an attempt at breaking the world record for laughing, which was previously at a unconscionable 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the clowns did not have enough willpower, which I presume is the only necessary ability to break the laughing world record, and had to settle for 15 minutes, which is the record … in Mexico. Come on clowns, you had ONE TASK and you blew it! Just keep laughing, you all have nothing better to do with your time besides play Toyota Corolla body Tetris or scar everybody around you for life. About 700 clowns attended the Fifteenth International Clown Convention in Mexico City on Wednesday, where attendees set a new record. After laughing for 15 minutes, the clowns could not break the “laughing world record” but were able to break the national record in Mexico. Clowns from the United States, Peru, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and other countries attended three days of meetings, which began on 18 October, participating in conferences, exhibitions and make up competitions.
Was the competition to “get someone not in clown paint to hang out with us for more than two minutes without experiencing any involuntary shrieking or panic attacks,” because that would be toughest game imaginable, unless ropes are involved.
