Little Skylar Higginson is due to be born in four days, and heaven help us is the Giants aren’t safely ensconced in the World Series when he comes out. Thank goodness he couldn’t see Thursday’s proceedings, in which a two-error third inning cost his home nine dearly en route to a 4-2 loss the the Phils. Oh well. Take it away, Knopfler.

Later, Tammy Nelson of Beach Blanket Babylon (below) sang God Bless America during the seventh inning, confusing many Phillies fans who are not familiar with the world’s longest-running musical review (it was created in 1974 for an expected six-week run). By the way, that little place with the green roof to the right there has the best Chinese food in the entire hat district.
