Canada has ridiculous political ads, too

Well, it’s nice to know that when it comes to offensively ridiculous, out-of-context political commercials, the Canadian version of democracy doesn’t lag far behind the American. Sam Katz (pronounce “Kates,” apparently) is the mayor of Winnipeg, Ontario and is running for re-election. You know what that means — time for some laughably baseless character assassination delivered with an unbelievably straight face. And this time, it has to do with sports!
Video highlighting what happened when Katz recently played in a charity soccer match after the jump.

Yes, that’s right — Sam Katz kicks children in the face. Or he did. Once. By accident. In a game that involves a lot of kicking. FOR CHARITY. Same thing, right?
This nameless political opponent (nameless only because I don’t feel like glorifying this sort of glaringly dishonest tactic) may have just given birth to a new form of hyper-literal attack ad. I can just see the possibilities now.
GEORGE WASHINGTON DESTROYS TREES, ADMITS IT.
JOHN F. KENNEDY EATS CAKES WITH LIVE WOMEN INSIDE.
GEORGE H.W. BUSH VISIBLY SICKENED BY JAPANESE PEOPLE.
The possibilities are endless.

‘Sam Katz: He Kicks Children in the Face’ Attack Ad Is Ridiculous, But Also Pretty Funny [Urlesque]

It is a parody. I repeat: a parody. And not a particularly stealthy one, either.
No, seriously: how disconnected do you have to be to think this is serious?

Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba, it is not in Ontario. And obviously nobody paid for this commercial, it is funny though.
