Wake Up Call: Philadelphia prepares for the NLCS in typical fashion

So Juan James Rodriguez, 24, on Monday became the first person in history to streak the President of the United States … and I’ll give you two guesses as to where it occurred. Ha, naturally that second guess was completely unnecessary for sports fans; it was of course Philadelphia. Don’t these things usually happen at Citizen’s Bank Park?
Yes, Barack Obama’s speech at a rally was interrupted by nudeness, and not the good kind. And as is fitting in today’s political climate, it was corporate sponsored. According to The Weekly Standard, back in August California billionaire Alki David offered $1 million to anyone who would streak near the President with the name of David’s web site scrawled on their body. It was, apparently, mission accomplished for Rodriguez, who now has the second-most talked about private parts in the world.
And what do we get out of all of this? Just this fantastic Associated Press photo of Rodriguez being hauled off to jail in the buff (he’s still in custody at this hour). Couldn’t they at least have covered him down there with a “Change We Can Believe In” sign? And yes, that woman is wearing a Michael Jackson hat, which makes it all the more special. The next Photoshop meme? Hmm.
But seriously Philadelphia, good Lord; the NLCS begins Saturday. Seek help.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT

“I’m king of the worlZZZzzzzzzz! …”

* There isn’t a decent sports bar anywhere in Philadelphia? Wow.

* Ron Artest says he’s officially quit alcohol and marijuana. OK, starting … now. No, wait. Okay … NOW.

* Michael Phelps may be the only golfer to aim for the water hazards.
