Tillman's brother: 'I wish he would've just lit these f****** idiots up with his own gun'

The documentary The Pat Tillman Story is in theaters now, prompting Bill Maher to interview Pat’s brother, Richard, on Real Time this past Friday. This is an amazing family, known for pulling no punches in criticizing the U.S. military and the big coverup surrounding Pat’s death in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan in 2004. Friday night on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Tillman’s brother Richard discussed his brother’s death at length. Tillman’s father had the famous “F*** you and yours” line to the man who spearheaded the investigation, Brigadier General Gary M. Jones. And Tillman’s mother wrote the book Boots on the Ground By Dusk: My Tribute to Pat Tillman. Richard Tillman hasn’t talked much, aside from a great response to Maria Shriver’s saccharine tribute to Pat at his funeral. Richard: “Pat isn’t with God. He’s f****** dead.”
But Friday on Real Time, Richard had a lot to say. It’s worth a look.
Video following the jump.
“I wish he would’ve just lit these f****** idiots up with his own gun, you know. ‘Cause he knew that they were shooting at him. I wish he didn’t have so much character, and he would’ve shot his own guys.”
“That’s my take on it. I wish he would have been like, you guys are f****** clowns, and just lit ‘em up.”

not that I condone what the military and our government did in this horrific tragedy, but this kid has some serious issues, everyone deals with greif in their own way but to glorify the greif that he is obviously having a hard time dealin with is on par with most of Bill Maher, classless.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. If he honestly thought they were trying to murder him (and the other young troop up there with him), then he should have returned fire. However, I can only assume Mr. Tillman didn’t think that was the case & only wanted them to stop putting their lives in danger & wasting ammunition.
When you get an idea of how close they were to him, then maybe you start thinking that someone was out to frag him.
