On The Daily Show on Monday, Jon Stewart defended Stephen Colbert’s controversial in-character appearance before Congress to discuss the plight of immigrant farm workers. This was one of Colbert’s remarks:
“I was a corn packer. And I know that term is offensive to some people, because corn packer is a derogatory term for a gay Iowan.”
Stewart:
“Oh, ha ha ha. The term is also offensive to the great Arena League Football franchise the Green Corn Packers.”
Another great line:
“You can’t embarrass the House of Representatives — they’re the Andy Dick of our government,” Stewart said. “It’s like, when you make out with Andy Dick, he’s not the one worried about cold sores.”
