Hoo boy, there’s no cutting it: it is quite clear, (courtesy of British rag News of the World, which also has video) that former WBU, WBA Light Welterweight Champion and WBC, WBA, WBO Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Champion Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton had quite the good time in a Manchester hotel two weeks ago when he engaged in a drug and alcohol binge that has those close to him concerned that he might kill himself if doesn’t get his problem under control.
Said one friend:
“Hatton has been partying hard and is an accident waiting to happen. For a professional sportsman it’s totally unbelievable what he’s doing to his body. He needs help and quickly.”
Indeed. According to Emma Bowe, who is a close friend of Hatton’s as well as a boxer herself, was in the hotel room and witnessed the drug-addled scene, over a 10-hour bender, Hatton partook in “SEVEN lines of coke in THREE separate drug sessions, 11 pints of Guinness, four vodkas, two glasses of wine and several Sambucas.” Jebus. Where were the two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers? A quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls wouldn’t have hurt, either. Hunter S. Thompson would have been offended by this half-assed binge, God rest his soul.
