Ah, tailgating, a time to kick back, have some beers, grill some food, fraternize with your fellow fans…and get married?
Charlie Vanderpool, a lifelong Saints fan, somehow managed to convince his betrothed, Gloria Darlene Paige, to hold their nuptials in a parking lot near the Superdome prior to the New Orleans Saints-Minnesota Vikings game on Thursday. He must be one smooth talker.
Just because these two lovebirds were getting married, it didn’t mean that they forgot to pay tribute to the Saints. Paige wore a white pantsuit with a black-and-gold beaded headpiece and Vanderpool sported black rose boutonniere with a tiny Saints helmet.
And don’t think for one second these newlyweds, in their post-nuptial revelry, forgot about far more pressing issues (via an AP report on msnbc):
“I want us to two-dat,” Vanderpool said, New Orleans-speak for a championship repeat.
Indeed. Two-dat. Rumor has it they will be spending their honeymoon at a Hornets game later this fall.
