* Chris Johnson and Faith Hill Share Lunch, Awkwardness. Titans RB Chris Johnson and country music singer Faith Hill recently got together to share some vittles and a little informal chit chat, thanks to the NFL Network. What starts out as some folksy Q & A between two Music City icons turns awkward and uncomfortable faster than CJ outrunning a linebacker. [The Last Angry Fan]
* Ozzie Guillen For Chicago Mayor. Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen went to Twitter with his reaction, jokingly tweeting “Next mayor well why not me lol.” Well, he was definitely not serious and his mayoral aspirations would be more realistic if they were in the social media check-in app Foursquare than running for public office. We officially endorse Guillen’s candidacy for mayor and, using some of his actual tweets, came up with the following campaign posters to support his cause. [Tauntr]
* They Call Darrelle’s Island Revis and it has Resurfaced. On whether he was really prepared to sit out the whole year: “Yeah, I think I was very prepared to do it, but I knew that it was going to be a tough task to do because I’m a football player and I love to play this game. Being away from it was probably what hurt me most.” [Sports Radio Interviews]
* Dumbest. World. Record. Ever. Golfers To Try To Play ‘Fastest Round Of Golf’. In a coordinated effort, 100 golfers in Texas are going to attempt to play the fastest round of golf in Texas some time in October. But the thing is it isn’t so much the fastest round of golf as it is a bastardized version of a relay played out on a golf course, so I’m calling B.S. on the entire endeavor. [Sportress of Blogitude]
* Happy 5th anniversary, Deadspin. In my opinion, Deadspin has had such an impact on the sports-media landscape — pound-for-pound, as much as anything in sports media in the 15 years of the “internet era” — that it is even possible to splice sports’ internet era into “pre-Deadspin” and “post-Deadspin.” [Dan Shanoff]
* For the Record: The Pittsburgh Steelers themed art exhibition is horrocious … Mike Shanahan throws hissy fit at media, threatens to close practice (but won’t) … 90-yard soccer goal, anyone?
