With average attendance dropping for the third straight year and 3D TV just around the corner, one would think that the NFL would be working like the bejeezus to make fans more comfortable actually attending the games. If by “comfortable” you mean having beer and obscenities rain on your children during a Patriots-Jets game at Giants Stadium last season, then mission accomplished. Michelle Munoz is suing the New York Giants organization and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which operated Giants Stadium, stemming from an incident in which she claims her family was verbally and physically abused by Jets fans.
When her 14-year-old daughter held up a pro-Tom Brady sign during the game, says Munoz, things began getting out of hand. From the Newark Star-Ledger:
The Jets fans cursed the Munoz family, threw beer at the children and demanded they put down the pro-Brady sign, according to the family’s attorney Evan Foulke of Wyckoff. Munoz called her husband, Randy, who was sitting in a different section and they both complained about the unruly fans to stadium security guards during halftime, Foulke said.
The guards refused to take any action, according to papers filed in U.S. District Court in Newark. As the game headed to the final minutes — and a 16-9 Jets win — Munoz held up her daughter’s pro-Brady sign and was attacked by Jets fans in the next row, Foulke said. He claimed Munoz was punched, kicked and thrown over a row of bleacher seats.
Munoz was not taken to a hospital, but sustained cervical spine injuries according to the lawsuit, which was filed in July. The children were not physically harmed.

And the surprise is??? Jets fans are the WORST, but they are absolutely not the only ones, and if she didn’t know that then she’s a moron at worst, a completely uninformed mother and football fan at best.
Why stadium security and the NFL as a whole tolerate this type of behavior in stadiums across the country is beyond me. I say that as someone who has attended games all across the country. Is it everywhere? Of course not, but it is certainly prevalent in many stadiums – and the NFL knows it.
You want to know why attendance is waning? Because if you’re not drinking, there is no point in going to an NFL game — and I say that as a drinker. If I go sober, I can’t stand it – an amazing number of fans are horrible with the swearing and violence. I certainly don’t take my kids to a regular season NFL game.
Lady, you can sue them if you want but somebody should kick your ass for taking your kids into that environment.

so the guy holds up his daughter’s sign, which is obviously an attempt to provke these morons…what did he expect? you don’t drive to the ghetto in your brand new cadillac to scream racial slurs out the windows…what exactly do you think is going to happen? im a pats fan, going to an away game i dont try to piss off everybody there…with an average IQ of (something like) 85, you don’t want to mess with a belligerent football fan…basically, what it comes down to is that New Yorkers (except Mets fans) are douche bags…
