Floyd Mayweather's racist rant directed at Manny Pacquiao? Acting!

master-thespian-jon-lovitz.jpgYou know that huge stir Floyd Mayweather caused earlier this week when he uploaded a video to Ustream where he went into a racist, profanity-laced tirade against Manny Pacquiao? He was only joking, people! Come on, what kind of person would be ignorant enough to broadcast ignorant, bigoted thoughts across the internet by saying ridiculous things about rolling up Pacquiao “in a sushi roll and cooking up the m*****f***** with some cats and dogs”? It all makes perfect sense when you think about it. It was simply an overreaching comedic routine. Right. You know, Mayweather really should add “Master Thespian” to his list of nicknames. .

In the video, Mayweather insists he does not have a racist bone in his body (via You Been Blinded):

In fact, he is the complete antithesis of a racist person. So much so, in fact, he even invites a Chinese woman and Thai woman he has never met before into his hotel room! A racist person would never do such a crazy thing!

Well, I’m sold. Any person who isn’t convinced that Mayweather was simply exercising his satirical muscles must be a drunken, mouth-breathing Irishman or a greasy, half-wit Italian. And by the way, the above was not a bigoted comment. As a person of Irish-Italian descent, I’m allowed to say that, you see.

    I am a fan of Mayweaher as a boxer. But damn that video is appalling. As a human being I’m offended and as a black man I’m probably even more offended. In a matter of minutes Mayweather manages to feed into every negative stereotype about black man you can think of. I definitely thought before he was putting on a front with his whole money persona to get money, Now I realized he really is ignorant.
    He gives the media more of a reason to perpetuate the ideas of black men being lost souls in America.

    What a load of crap. I can’t help but to think that if this was a heaven forbid, a “white” fighter or athlete, he or she would be ran out of town. Black-balled from their sport, chased down by a dipshit for a “reverend” Al Sharpton and so on. If Peyton Manning said somehting like this he would have set race relations back 5 thousand years and so on. Although, just about everyone is hyper-sensitvie to race, and things like this should only be a reflection of an idiot like Mayweather, they say “what’s good for the goose…”. Punish him, suspend him, make him write letters of apology, strip him of titles, PPV networks should boycott his fights and so on…Treat him like Peyton Manning would be treated, if Peyton were such a racist, entitled, ignorant A-hole…

    All these apologizes makes me SICK TO MY STOMACH. If anyone call a black person the N-word they meant it, if you call someone GAY u meant it, people who say negative things about the president they meant it (including the Rev. Jesse Jasckson who was to stupid to know he had on a microphone). The only time all these people thought they did not mean it was when they were caught in the act like a bad drug bust or they know it would affect their noterity in society.

    Mayweather is just stirring the celebrity pot while he continues to sty out of the ring and dodge Pacquiao in the press. Lets go ahead and see who is the “best fighter pound for pound” and get these 2 in the ring to duke it out. That IS Mayweather’s profession isn’t it? Isn’t boxing legitimate contenders like Pacquiao what a REAL champion is supposed to do? Mayweather is throwing a lot of lip service around to any media that will listen, how bout Mayweather get his watery guts back inside him and get in the ring to throw some leather with Pacquiao and prove he is what he says he is.

    this just in – we white folks lost the monopoly on racism long ago (too many prime examples to cite just one) and it’s pretty obvious that there is NO race that has the monopoly on just plain stupidity

    Mike, I have never been called “racially hypersensitive”, but certainly there is a double standard and it’s sickening. I see people for who they are, black, white, gay, straight, whatever. But if one race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. is persecuted for saying something ignorant, joking or not, then make it across the board. Black’s should have no more right to say stupid shit than anyone else. Personally, I think that people should be able to say whatever they want, when they want…If they choose to sound like an unintelligent, racist jackass, let them…It shows everyone around them who they really are…Just saying keep the punishments equal if you’re going to have any at all…Where’s Sharpton and Jackson today defending Orientals?

    Anyone that saw Floyd’s joke will really say that it is an outburst of
    a racist remark from someone who is losing his status as pound for pound champion. All the world knows now that it is “The Pac Man” who is the real Kilo Muscle with seven different weight belts in his hand where Mayflower has one? I did not make an error on the spelling of his last name because that’s how he won his belt, running from a fight toe to toe maybe because he feels like a girl who can’t fight someone like “the Pac Man”. So Floyd, why do you ALWAYS back away from signing the fight contract, you like picking Mayflowers?

    It’s not racist but misinformed-partially. Dogs are a delicacy in the filipines. I have a filipino friend who always thought what another neighbor’s poodle would taste like !!! But cats are not part of the meal (that’s more chinese food), and sushi is Japanese. Egg roll is more filipino food.
    Anyone who sees it more than funny is too sensitive, and needs to have a beer and cool off.

    Dog-eating originally introduced from Spain (Europe) as far as 15th century or even earlier when there are trying to colonized Asia and other parts of Latin and South America. Egg roll is not originally a Filipino food, it was introduced by Chinese merchants (from Fujian province) during the galleon trade era

    Oh please, what is all this racist crap. Thats not what the Mayweather rant was all about. It was about the FACT that Mayweather is a pussy and is AFRAID of Pacquiao. CHICKEN. He knows Pacquiao will kick his ass.
