TV viewer busts Juli Inkster, gets her DQ’d from tournament. Inkster was disqualified from the Safeway Classic on Saturday afternoon for a rules violation, but that’s not the real story. The more interesting element is how she was caught…But here’s the kicker: the LPGA found out thanks to a tip from a keen-eyed television viewer. Haynesworth: Redskins Intentionally Making Me Look Bad. The spat between Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and Albert Haynesworth took yet another turn this week. Haynesworth missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday because of “headaches” according to the team. The massive defensive lineman then didn’t enter Saturday night’s preseason game against the Ravens until the second half and was not happy about it. War on shootouts continues with NHL tiebreaker change. Suggesting it belongs in the Stanley Cup Playoffs remains sacrilege. The NHL’s Research and Development Camp dedicated a significant amount of time to analyzing overtime format changes that would minimize the chances for a shootout. And, beginning next season, the NHL will no longer honor shootout victories as legitimate when it comes to tie-breakers in the standings. [Puck Daddy]
