Ray Lewis' new realty business: they'll stab the competition if they have to!

Do you live in or nearby the Boca Raton, Florida area and are trying to move some commercial real estate but it seems that the only thing holding you back is the ineptitude of your current realtor? Have you become so frustrated with the snail-like pace of selling the multi-family home that is causing your investment portfolio to hemorrhage? When you meet with your real estate agent, do you get the sudden urge to grab the letter opener off your realtor’s desk and just go crazy?
If you find yourself in one of these stressful, stabby predicaments, do I have good news for you. Just in time to save you from an ugly and embarrassing murder trial is RL52 Realty, the latest business endeavor of Ray Lewis.
Lewis, the perennial All-Pro linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, now in his fourteenth NFL season, understands that he, unlike Brett Favre, cannot play football forever. That is why he is expanding his RL52 brand (“RL” for Ray Lewis, “52″ for his number? Genius!) and has entered the highly competitive, cutthroat Florida real estate business.
Via one of my favorites sports news sites on the interwebs, The Daily Record:
The company, one of several ventures Lewis is rolling out under the RL52 brand, will be comprised of four divisions. The real estate purchase and sale division will work on retail, multi-family and hospitality transactions. The retail leasing and franchise division will help clients find space and explore franchising opportunities. The property service and support division will handle property and asset management business. And the community and urban redevelopment division will work on neighborhood revitalization programs.
Lewis and his team are unveiling the firm at the International Council of Shopping Center’s conference in Orlando, Fla., to be held Sunday through Tuesday.
“South Florida is home to the fifth-largest metropolitan market in the U.S. We believe this area currently offers one of the most opportunistic commercial real estate environments in the country,” said Lewis in a statement. “Our team already has deep community ties and a solid infrastructure to deliver the kind of world class results you can come to expect from a Ray Lewis organization. We plan to open additional offices in high-value metro markets.”
For those of you who may question the wisdom behind Ray Lewis committing to this particular business endeavor, given the dire condition the real estate is currently in, not to mention the tenacious, no holds barred attitude the intense linebacker displays on the gridiron every Sunday. You may also be questioning that Ray Lewis’ personality may not translate well to the real estate market, do not fret. First of all, Lewis will likely not be out pounding the pavement to move property: his company is merely bankrolling the business. Secondly, sometimes, it takes an aggressive realtor to make a sale. A little Vinegar with the Honey, you might say.
Surprised you didn’t know that.
