I think that Stephen Colbert speaks for most of us when he sharpened a broom handle and threatened to do bodily harm to one Mr. Brett Favre on Wednesday’s The Colbert Report. Back when Favre retired from the Vikings for the first time via Twitter, Colbert said that if he changed his mind, he would stab him “in the eye with a broken broom handle.” Wednesday, he revisited those remarks, declaring “It’s eye-kabob time!”
“What’s wrong with you? And what’s wrong with your family? Every time you spend 10 minutes with them you suddenly decide you’d rather be crushed by 300-pound linebackers!”
Video following the jump.
This story brought to my attention, appropriately enough, by the sports blog You Been Blinded.

Noting that the retirement/un-retirement tango engenders sympathy, increased TV air time and, ultimately, more cash, Colbert of course decided to retire, and then un-retire, during the segment. God, I hope this doesn’t start a trend. I’m talking to you, Dr. Laura.

Ha ha….I’d like to see Mr. Colbert try it in person. Wuss. Good Ole’ Boy would promptly disarm and then disembowel him with his own weapon. You don’t play 300+ games in the NFL without being able to handle a Colbert.

Yes, but think of the ratings that would get for Comedy Central.

Ain’t it amazing when the Viqueens sent some players down to MS with a suitcase full of money, his ankle miraculously healed? Hallelujah! It must be the Lord’s work!!
