No longer must he only be known as Bo the Bailer. We now know the full name of the unchivalrous Astros fan who ran away from a foul ball and let his girlfriend get hit on Monday at Minute Maid Park. It’s Bo Wyble. He and girlfriend Sara Saco-Vertiz appeared on the CBS Early Show this morning to explain … wait, did I call her his girlfriend? Sorry. According to Sara, the two have broken up. Well, I suppose that was inevitable.
On “The Early Show” Thursday, Saco-Veritz indicated the two have called it quits — though she said it isn’t only because of what happened at the game.
Asked by co-anchor Harry Smith about their status, Saco-Veritz said, “Alright. Well, I mean it’s not over because of the ball. Um…” “More than we want to know,” Smith interjected.
Video following the jump.
Poor Bo. When Harry Smith berates you for not being a man, that’s the living worst. Stand up for yourself, Bo. Get up and kick Harry in the chest, then grab Sara and kiss her long and hard. Take that, America.
I’m kind of disappointed with Bo’s TV appearance. No sideways hat. No lip ring. Although the torn jeans was a nice touch for national TV. Form an orderly line, ladies.

The media broke this couple up. How sad…

Start the countdown until these two end up on some lame reality show. BTW – I didn’t waste my time watching the video, but I clearly see the lip ring in the video player freeze-frame.

No, society’s sexism toward men broke this couple up.

Obviously, Bo has problems aside from his chivalry. Maybe a little too stuck on himself? Sadly, young women tend to gravitate to selfish ‘look at me’ losers like this…

What sexism towards men? That they should not protect their lady like a REAL man does? What so sexist about that?

The guy looks ashamed and also like a wimp. The girl looks like she’s gonna milk this for all the $$$$ she can get. I feel sorry for him.

They say everyone has their 15 minutes of fame. It’s 15:01. Let’s move on.

She had it coming! One foul ball, and she bails. Life is full of foul balls, some you get hit by and others you escape. Grow up toots.

Maybe Bartman should call this girl up. He wouldn’t move out of the way of a foul ball.

It sounds like the interviewer was giving the boy a lesson in manhood. There’s a good chance in today’s society that he grew up without a father and was not taught the concept of chivalry.

I like how women on this blog want to be “protected by their man”, except when it comes to climbing the corporate ladder, equal pay, all that other women’s lib crap, then men can’t do anything right. tell the skirt to get a glove and catch the damn foul ball herself.

Now this is a great comment. The best one yet.
On another note; has anyone noticed the different styles of dress between them. No wonder Sarah’s dumping Bo. He doesn’t even know how to dress for national television. Ripped jeans Bo? Please. Wearing jeans is ok for national television but with NO HOLES or rips, moron. Go home and buy yourself a new pair of jeans.
Sarah, on the other hand, knows how to dress for today’s workplace and national television. I wonder what kind of job she has and where she works.

why is everybody making a big deal out of this anyway?
The couple probably already had problems. People got to understand that baseballs are hit in a funny way and sometimes it curves and hit people on the forehead. But….but Bo shouldn’t look like little girl on national TV trying catch a ball. He does look funny though. Bo! got an advice for u. Don’t look ridiculous on national tv again. LOL

Gotta back up JT here. Sexism towards men is apparent thus: if the genders were the other way around here, no one would be making fun of the girl who “bailed”. Men aren’t as much a victim of gender roles as women, not by a long shot, but they’re still expected by society to be macho. As most of the comments here attest.
Bo still manages to come off as a douche, though.

Sorry, Rick, but “no lip ring”? Did you bother to watch the video before you wrote the article? Did you watch the video after writing the article, but couldn’t figure out how to edit? Sheesh…

He should take that yankee hat off, a real ny man would protect that cutie.

Exactly what are you implying working under the table in white pants, a blouse with white sandals and styled hair to boot?

One of the “Strong Women” we keep hearing about would have willingly jumped in front of her man to keep him from getting hurt.

From what I hear they were on rocky ground anyways, but when strange balls started hitting her in the face it was the last straw.
