Morning Tweet: Tasing Saddles

Aug 2, 2010, 9:00 AM EDT

Yep, in Stillwater, the sheriff indeed controls the cowboys with a taser. Clint Eastwood does not approve. Neither does Mike Gundy, who may have lost a starting defensive end when junior Jamie Blatnick was charged with felony aggravated assault and battery. It all happened at J.R. Murphy’s, a bar in Stillwater, early Saturday. Blatnick, from Celina, Texas, is accused of hitting former OSU lineman Stephen Denning in the face with a beer bottle. When police arrived and began to take Denning’s statement on the sidewalk outside the bar, Denning spotted Blatnick and tried to break through the cops to get at him. Result? Electric shock therapy.

In a news release, police said that as officers were interviewing Denning outside the establishment, Denning forced his way through police in an attempt to continue the fight with Blatnick. Denning had to be stunned with a Taser to be subdued, police said.

Fun times in Stillwater. But Gundy can handle it; he’s 43. He’s a man.
As honorary chairman of the welcoming committee, it’s my privilege to present a laurel and hearty handshake to our new … Monday.

Ha ha; of course Mark has no friends, and that “vacant farm” is really the Shadybrook Rehab Center.
