Still unresolved: How that chicken got into the hotel room in The Hangover. That’s a loose end that I hope will be resolved in the sequel. Less of a mystery: How Mike Tyson got into the movie. From a recent interview on ESPN Las Vegas:
“I was doing that to supply my drug habit. I’m sorry I’m coming at you guys like this… I said, ‘Wow, This is going to be really good. We’re going to sell this stuff on 42nd street on bootleg and make a lot of money.’ This is my best thinking on drugs… It wasn’t that way. It was an international success.
Since losing his daughter Exodus in a home accident last year, Tyson has dedicated himself to family and living a healthy lifestyle. See his cameo on Entourage Sunday night? Tyson’s in Ari Gold’s office with two of his kids running around destroying things, talking about wanting to do a TV series remake of The Brady Bunch. Apparently, that’s somewhat true to life.
“I became a Vegan,” Tyson said. “Vegan is where no animal products. No livestock products. Nothing. I just did a lot of training and try to become more faithful in life. I wanted a different life. I felt like I was dying. I had an incident in life where I lost my four year old daughter in a tragic accident at home. I don’t know. I didn’t want to live anymore. So I said, that in order to go there, I had to change my life. I am going to change everything I dislike about myself.
I changed everything that I was as a human being. I started that journey in October or November… I don’t smoke anymore. I wanted to give up everything. I had to change my life. I didn’t have a problem with drugs or nothing. I had a problem with thinking. My thinking was broken. That was the solution of my broken thinking using drugs and living crazy. It was just the way I was thinking.”
Tyson, who had peaked at 350 pounds, lost 130. Would he consider getting back into the ring?
“I wouldn’t consider nothing to do with boxing. I couldn’t do that no more. I’d be petrified now. That’s not who I am anymore.”
“Money in the bank, baby.”

I use to think the same thing but Tyson would never train anyone to box because he would be afraid to turn someone into an animal like he was. I think he will find some place to fit in and make a living and we will see him from time to time pop up in the news or a movie but boxing that is his past. It’s a shame because he has more knowledge of boxing than anyone I know of if you pay attention to his interviews and documentaries he let’s that fact come through. Mike Tyson could train several heavy weights for years and years one after another but again he doesn’t want to take the chance.

Most times it takes something drastic in ones life for them to make a complete change in their lifestyle. It is sad that the drastic experience was the loss of Tyson’s daughter. I have followed Tyson for many years, and I have shaken my head many times over the questionable things he has done. I am sorry for his loss, and hope that he continues his life changing ways of being a better person. Best of luck to you and your family.

I expected Mike to lose it and eventually do something crazy, illegal, dangerous or all of the above after losing his daughter (I can’t say that I wouldn’t have)but it seems to have forced him to become a better person. Hopefully he get a bigger and better role in Hangover II. He can still strike fear in most people and that could lead to numerous hilarious jokes

It always bothered me how Tyson could be so calm for months, but before fights he became enraged. I think his handlers took him off his medications months before a fight. His uncontrolled anger and ferocity was there for all to see. I feel he was abused and manipulated by these men to make as much money as they could from this man and then throw him away when he couldn’t make them big bucks. I am glad Tyson has changed.

Best of luck always to Mike Tyson. An original both inside and outside the ring. For a time, he was the baddest man on the planet but over time he’s proven to be one of the most consistently fascinating men on the planet. Gives Bill Clinton competition for the title.

Tyson himself admitted, in the ring, after his loss to Evander Hollyfield that his pre-fight anger and ferocity was an act to sell tickets. I believe that because, well, it worked like a charm. Tyson does something crazy; people talk about it and hype up the fight.
Tyson never really struck me as an evil or bad person. The one sole exception is when he allegedly beat his wife, that is obviously not excusable by anyone who calls himself a “man”, especially arguably the best fighter in the world hitting a woman.
I wish the best for Tyson. His star didn’t last very long but it rarely does in a sport as brutal as boxing, but when it did it shone very, very bright. He never was a Foreman or an Ali in my book, but he definatley right up there behind them.
He should stay as far away from boxing as he can and concentrate on his new, more peaceful life. He has nothing to prove anymore by going back.

it is widely known he was on DNP “anabolic that makes you crazy, strong as an ox and meaner than a pitbull shitten razors” before his fights.. Of course a lot of other fighters were on other stuff, so it was all fair back in those days..

I have a hard time believing that he won’t screw up again, given enough time. He is truly a pig.

How about we put Mike and Lindsay Lohan, along with about 100 media folks, on some island without contact with the real world. Could any of us continue to function without the vital information we receive from the “news” media about the endless stream of nobodies?
